The Corbett Tiger Reserve is separated into seven tourism areas. Every zone offers a unique experience to guests and provides a gateway to the park's diverse fauna and stunning landscapes.
Dhikala Zone : | Dhikala, Jim Corbett, is the park's largest and most famous zone, and tourists mainly desire to visit it. It comprises various wildlife, such as tigers, elephants, and deer. This spot commands a good view of the Ramganga River and other landscapes. |
Bijrani Zone: | With beautiful forest landscapes and a high chance of spotting a tiger, this beauty provides a complete wildlife package. This zone is ideal for people who want to experience the 'tiger sighting' moment. |
Jhirna Zone : | The zone remains open throughout the year and has a mixture of dense forests and open grasslands. Jhirna Gate in Jim Corbett offers different varieties of habitats to wild species, such as the sloth bear and wild boar. |
Dhela Zone : | It is a relatively new zone in the park. Boasts a great variety of birdlife. You can often come across herds of elephants and other animals. |
Garjia Safari Zone: | This zone has been named after the famous Garjia Devi Temple, located in its vicinity. Characterized by a peaceful environment, this zone forms an excellent site for the observation and appreciation of the fauna and natural beauty of the area. |
Sitabani Buffer Zone: | Though not technically a part of the core area, this zone has its share of mythology and history. This place is said to be associated with Sita, the wife of Lord Rama, who spent her days in exile here. A wide variety of wild animals also inhabits this zone, and it is a quiet retreat. |
Durga Devi Zone : | Located in the northeastern part of the park, this zone is a significant place to visit for those interested in bird-watching. It offers a view of rare species like black-chinned babblers and crested serpent eagles. |
Phato Jeep: | Phato Zone is the 10th tourism zone operated from Ramnagar. With the opening of this gate, another jungle safari has become an option for tourists apart from Corbett National Park and Sitabani Tiger Reserve. |
